Software Engineer Intern
“This summer, I worked as a Software Engineering Intern at American Express. During my time there, I developed a redaction platform designed to protect sensitive information in documents. Using Microsoft’s open-source tool, Presidio, and an OCR for text extraction, the platform was able to detect and anonymize Personally Identifiable Information (PII) through context-aware methods, applying redaction or masking as needed. The platform was designed to be flexible and scalable, making it adaptable for use across various document types and sensitive data categories.
Working on this project was a valuable learning experience, allowing me to explore new tools and technologies while gaining a deeper understanding of software development in real-world applications. Overall, I’m grateful for the experience and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work!”
