Transferring from another TCNJ program, or adding Computer Science as an additional major
To apply to transfer into the Computer Science program, or add Computer Science as an additional major, students must be in good academic standing, and are required to meet the following minimum performance standards:
(i) CSC 220 – CS I: Computational Problem Solving (grade of C or higher), and
(ii) MAT 127/Calculus A OR MAT 128/Calculus B OR MAT 205/Linear Algebra (grade of C or higher).
Internal transfer applications received by the Department before the Change of Major deadline, as per TCNJ’s academic calendar, will be given full consideration. All applications will be reviewed together soon after the deadline, and decisions will be made within 10-14 days so that accepted students can enter the advising and registration period as computer science majors.
How do I apply to switch into or add the Computer Science Major?
To add the Computer Science major you will first need to complete CSC 220 and MAT 127 both with grades of C or better, and must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. After you receive your grades for CSC 220 and MAT 127, you should complete the change of major application form and then email it to cs@tcnj.edu before the change of major deadline.
Once your form has been reviewed, you will be notified of your acceptance status via email and your form will be sent to Records and Registration for processing.
