Add CS Minor / CS Education Minor

Adding Computer Science or Computer Science Education as a minor

To apply for either the Computer Science minor or the Computer Science Education minor, students must be in good academic standing, and are required to meet the following minimum performance standards:
(i) CSC 220 – CS I: Computational Problem Solving (grade of C or higher) and
(ii) MAT 127/Calculus A OR MAT 128/Calculus B OR MAT 205/Linear Algebra (grade of C or higher).

How do I apply for the Computer Science minor?

To add the Computer Science minor or Computer Science Education minor you will first need to complete CSC 220 and MAT 127 both with grades of C or better, and must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. After you receive your grades for CSC 220 and MAT 127, you will need to complete the minor application form and email your form to cs@tcnj.edu in order to apply to add the minor.   Once your form has been reviewed and signed, it will be returned to you via email.  Your form must then be emailed to the Office of Records and Registration (recreg@tcnj.edu) for processing.

Please be aware that students may be accepted into the CS minor, but there is no guarantee that students will be able to complete the minor in a particular time period as CS courses are currently in high demand. Students are not guaranteed seats in CS courses and there are a limited number of seats for CS minors in CS options and upper level courses.
