CSC 427: Natural Language Processing

Description:
This course provides an introduction to natural language processing (NLP). Natural language processing is computational processing of natural languages (e.g., English), distinguished from computer programming languages formally constructed for processing by computer (e.g., Java). The course will cover mathematical and computational foundations of natural language processing. Foundational methods for language modeling will be covered, as well as applications.

Prerequisite notes: CSC 230, CSC 270, and MAT 127, each with a grade of C or higher.  Non-majors may use CSC 250 in lieu of CSC 230.
