The Computer Science Alumni Mentoring Program, CSAMP, connects alumni with undergraduates to guide students through their exploration of career paths, professional networking, interview preparation, industry insights, skill building, and professional development. Mentors meet one-on-one with participating undergraduates once a month, focusing their discussions according to monthly agendas. Dr. Deborah Knox plays a key role in the design and implementation of the program.
“I think the program has been very beneficial for me in preparing for getting ready for the real world and what to expect. It’s definitely helped a lot with keeping me on top of my resume, internships, and preparing for interviews. It has helped a lot with networking too.” [Tyler]
Juliet, one of our alumni, reflected on the mentoring experience, “It has been wonderful to be a part of the CSAMP program, and to be able to give back to TCNJ CS in such a personal way! The mix of nostalgia of hearing my mentee talk about her experiences in the CS department and pride in not only how far I have come since graduating, but also being able to impart some of these lessons learned has been a rewarding experience.”
The Computer Science Department extends its gratitude to our participating alumni mentors for their invaluable support during the 2024-2025 academic year. Below, we highlight some of the mentors, their current job titles, areas of expertise, and employers. (Information shared with permission.)
