Software Engineer Intern
“During my internship at Walmart Global Tech in Bentonville, Arkansas, I worked as a software engineering intern with the Finance Data Services (FDS) team. My project involved developing a Spring Boot application using Java and Apache Kafka to facilitate daily data synchronization between a SQL database and noSQL database. This automation would omit the need for manual intervention in updating a store’s status, which determines whether the matching of receipts to invoices are required for Walmart stores.
I had an amazing time working in a corporate software engineering environment, and getting to apply programming concepts and skills from my TCNJ CS classes, as well as seeing my feature be deployed and helpful to my team. Additionally, I had the chance to explore the Bentonville area and participate in various Walmart intern held events, such a tour of the Crystal Bridges Museum, kayaking in the Ozarks, and ziplining in Kansas City!”
